Cemetery Dance publishers has released all of my vintage horror-suspense novels as epubs and The Pact is the last -- and in my humble opinion -- the best of the bunch.

The Pact begins during WW 2 when young Steven Russell is called into service, but decides to do something to protect himself from harm. Alas, things don't quite work out for him, and his body dies -- while he is serving on the U.S.S. Indianapolis during the sneak Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor -- while his mind lives on. Decades later his wife, Marjorie, has nightmares in which Steven calls out to her for help. She and an elderly psychic friend travel to Hawaii where they must wrestle with the ancient and alien demonic force that has possession of Steven, and which endangers the entire population of Hawaii with one alarming and terrifying incident after another.

FATAL BEAUTY

Just out in epub from Cemetery Dance publishers is another of my vintage horror novels, Fatal Beauty. This over-the-top, black comedy-like thriller is a bit of a departure for me, but I hope people will find it ghoulish fun. The premise has to do with a remarkable new makeup that can be used on everyone from burn victims to the homely to the disfigured, and also has the miraculous ability to turn anyone into their heart's desire (which could -- and does -- have some weird consequences, if you think about it). The great cover is by elderlemon design, a firm run by author Kealan Patrick Burke. Several other titles of mine are available as well. Jimmy and Dorothy are a young couple who share a love of film, except that Jimmy's tastes run to the grotesque and horrific. Dorothy has trouble with such films as slasher movies because her own parents were assaulted and murdered by a maniac -- she gets no enjoyment out of films that bring that living nightmare back home to her. One of the earliest "slasher" films is the infamous Vicious from the sixties, and now they're making a sequel. As they film the movie, with Jimmy and Dorothy both covering it from different angles for their respective publications, people associated with the film begin to get murdered -- horribly murdered. Mix in a demon, a killer with a clawed hand, a railway car full of ghosts, a gay psychic, and some very strange nuns in a convent hovering near a girls school -- where the students are also being murdered -- and you have one heady brew of shock and suspense.

Vicious was originally published in paperback under the generic title Bride of Satan, a title which the publisher insisted upon. Now the prestigious Cemetery Dance Publishers has brought it out in a spanking new epub edition with a great cover by Kealen Patrick Burke and his Elderlemon Design. Available on kindle, nook, and other platforms, and can also be read on your computer. This is an enjoyable read for both horror fans and film buffs, but be warned that it gets a little gross at times.

My vintage horror novel Late at Night has been reissued in epub format by Cemetery Dance, and can be read on Kindle, Nook, or on your computer or other device.

In this book a group of psychic investigators and others come to the infamous Lammerty Island, which has a history of murder and mayhem. One night our hero, Ernest, wants something to read until he feels sleepy and discovers a paperback in the old house's library. As he reads, he discovers that he is the main character, and the supporting players are the other people in the group. What's going on here? And then the murders start ...

Readers have found this book both scary and suspenseful and I'm happy that Cemetery Dance has given it a new life. I was also pleased with the reviews on Amazon. This one was a lot of fun to write!

SAURIAN

Cemetery Dance publishers has released a new epub version of my vintage horror novel Saurian. The book's antagonists are Thomas Bartlett, whose family and entire town were destroyed by a monstrous creature when he was just a boy, and Gareth Bronmore, a real estate developer who seems to prosper as certain properties are ravaged by an unknown and gigantic animal ... an animal that has strangely human eyes.

I admit that Saurian was influenced by such movies as The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and The Giant Behemoth, but whereas those movies had one-dimensional characters and fairly basic storylines, as wonderful as they were, I tried to create living, breathing characters for the novel and add some unique elements to the story.

This edition has a spanking new cover by Elder Lemon Design.

This, my first published book, was given the generic title of Spawn of Hell by the publisher at the time. Things that Go Bump in the Night was the original title of the book, and we've gone back to that title for the brand new epub edition from Cemetery Dance.

Things was one of the first novels to deal with the subject of recombinant DNA technology, the making of hybrid creatures by splicing together DNA strands from different lifeforms. In this story a struggling artist and a fashion model encounter these strange and terrifying monsters when the couple go to find out what happened to the model's brother, who is found dead and half-eaten. The pair try desperately to stop an attack by these monstrosities -- some of whom have the faces of townspeople -- on the residents of a helpless community.  Imagine being eaten by someone with the face of a person you love, but whose body is incredibly grotesque ... A fun book!

Forgive another shameless plug, but here is another of my classic horror novels in epub format for the first time. The publisher is Cemetery Dance, and the cover was designed by Kealan Patrick Burke.

In Shivers, Steven Everson goes on a search for his missing brother, Joey, and discovers that many, many more people have gone missing in Manhattan than usual. A detective, a lonely alcoholic woman, a scientist, an older woman who claimed she was Joey's lover, and several others are embroiled in a horrific plot that leads to the frightening deaths of several of these individuals, who seem to be controlled by a powerful force no one can see and whose origin is unknown. Steven's investigation leads him down to hidden vaults beneath the New York City subways, where he uncovers the terrifying truth.

Shameless promotion!

I'm happy to announce that the prestigious Cemetery Dance publishers is releasing spanking new epub editions of several of my horror-suspense novels. These books are available on kindle and elsewhere.

The Dragon has to do with very strange goings on at an archaeological dig in New Mexico. There are pregnant workmen, huge slugs crawling across the desert, the ruins of an ancient city inside a mesa, and, of course, the title creature who causes a lot of havoc. Bizarre stuff indeed, and many readers thought it was a lot of fun; hopefully new readers will agree. Kealan Patrick Burke did the great covers for the books.
