I am fasci...Thanks for your very interesting post!<br /><br />I am fascinated with this movie! Gavin Lambert's adaptation of Tennessee Williams' novella is wonderful, especially the addition of the scenes of Franco and the young men with Mrs. Coogan and the Baron. I thought their portrayals were very sympathetic, and I found myself hoping the Contessa's clients would treat them generously and with kindness. I also hoped the Contessa would not continue to corrupt those young men by teaching them to be dishonest (like she did with Paulo--although I don't think she needed to teach him much).<br /><br />There's so many interesting things to watch in the background of this film--I would love to see the production notes. The guy in the sunglasses who says something to the people at the table outside the Cafe Minerva; the cafe scene with Mrs. Coogan and her escort with the monkey--all great scenes.Mary Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14834499721049764046noreply@blogger.com
