The tragedy is that it's just such a mess in comparison to the original.I liked Petula Clark better than you did -- she had a long list of acting credits before she appeared in this, and starred in "Finian's Rainbow" right before doing "Chips."

As for O'Toole, he's never been one of my favorites either, and he has not a dollop of charm in this, and the character is deadly without charm.Williamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03053290865549099074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8212867859094085036.post-17973407373369110412016-07-31T10:19:12.040-04:002016-07-31T10:19:12.040-04:00I agree 100 percent with your diagnosis, Doctor!! ...I agree 100 percent with your diagnosis, Doctor!! This movie is not very good at all; I have never gotten all the way through it. The music is indeed pretty terrible and O'Toole's attempt at warbling is unsuccessful. Petula Clark songs beautifully but cannot act.

To tell the truth, though I admire Peter O'Toole in many ways, I can't think of one film of his I really love, including Lawrence of Arabia...

I don't think I have an aversion to English actors, as I love Richard Burton, Rex Harrison and Peter Finch (but not Olivier!)
Lol
- Chrisangelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.com
